West Ham Spurs Preview – and so it begins

West Ham Spurs

So here we are again, the start of another Premier League season. As usual, hopes are high – a new manager, a fresh start. Compared to last year, things feel a little calmer, expectations a little more realistic.

Let’s hope Spurs supporters and our trigger happy chairman, give Mauricio Pochettino the chance to implement his ideas. The new system might take time, all worthwhile things do.

Poll: Where do you think Spurs will finish this season?

Spurs Premier League

In my last post, I predicted a sixth place finish for Spurs – although with the caveat that it would be a “better sixth”.

This may be a little pessimistic but I am trying to avoid falling into the usual pattern of: getting swept up in a new wave of optimism because of new signings/a new manager/irrational hope, only for the disappointment and depression to have returned by Christmas.

Why Mauricio Pochettino is a good choice for Spurs

Mauricio Pochettino joins Spurs

This wasn’t a great surprise, the Argentine coach had been strong favourite to take the post for a week or two prior to the announcement. The news came a fortnight after Tim Sherwood’s sacking but in reality Spurs fans Continue reading

He’s finally gone – Spurs say their goodbyes to Tim Sherwood

Sherwood in his Gilet

This week finally, inevitably, the axe fell on Tim Sherwood. Strangely, when he was eventually sacked I felt a pang of sadness for him. He probably wasn’t treated that well by Daniel Levy but then which manager has been?

Despite this, the overwhelming feeling was one of relief. Sherwood was ridiculously  Continue reading
