Poll: Where do you think Spurs will finish this season?

Spurs Premier League

In my last post, I predicted a sixth place finish for Spurs – although with the caveat that it would be a “better sixth”.

This may be a little pessimistic but I am trying to avoid falling into the usual pattern of: getting swept up in a new wave of optimism because of new signings/a new manager/irrational hope, only for the disappointment and depression to have returned by Christmas.

I thought it would be interesting to see what the general mood among Tottenham fans was. If nothing else it will be funny to look back on, when we win the league/sack Pochettino.

It would be great if you could let us know your thoughts in this poll and maybe even in the comments section:

Let’s hope the optimists are proved right!

Got to be 6th really. Chelsea, Man City, Arsenal, Liverpool and Man Utd all battling for a top 4 place, and I believe we’ll battle with Everton for 6th.

We have a top coach and quality all over the pitch, with a quality bench. Liverpool and Man U lack the quality bench we have and Liverpool have just lost the best player of the prem era who had a hand in about 60% of their goals last season. We have as good a chance as any of top 4 with the way Holtby and Lamela have found form under Pochettino. Last season’s 68 points is about as bad as this team will do.

@Jamie Pretty much my thoughts too but I think we have an outside chance of top 4 if Levy backs the manager in the transfer market and if the chairman and the fans give Pochettino time.

amazing how pesimistic spurs fans are .remember to dare is to dream big.let us be positive.it will rub off on the players.look at atletico madrid .smaller budget than,us all they needed was the right coach and player mentality.they won la liga.hope springs eternal

Agreed but it’s a fine line between being positive and putting too much pressure on the players. Atletico Madrid was a great inspiration to clubs like us. Pochettino played with Simeone in the Argentine national team. Let’s hope something rubbed off on him!

7th for me – I think Everton will finish above us as well, they have already adapted to Martinez’s different style, we have yet another new manager. We haven’t strengthened that much and all the other teams who finished above us last year have strengthened significantly – I think the gap from the top 4 will be much bigger this year. Not being pessimistic – just realistic, I’m just hoping we don’t have to to listen to Michael Dawson saying ‘we have to pick ourselves up’ after getting thrashed on numerous occasions like last season.

7th is a possibility and I can see your logic. I think we’ll beat Everton because despite last year we have better squad depth. Everton looked like they might come fourth but dropped away at the end and I think they will have the same problem this year.
