West Ham 2 Spurs 0 – Tottenham Hammered again

West Ham Spurs - Carroll Dawson

Well here we are again. This tortuous season just gets worse. A third loss to West Ham, another comprehensive beating from the “tactical genius” that is Sam Allardyce. We’ve pretty much saved his side from relegation. They must wish they could play us every week.

There were some small crumbs of comfort – it Continue reading

Stoke 0 Spurs 1 – Unconvincing Tottenham win at “nasty” Stoke

Stoke Spurs

They say a manager makes a team is his own image. This was never truer than in the case of Mark Hughes and Stoke. Objectively he has done a fantastic job. Taking over from a popular, successful, long serving coach is never easy – just ask David Moyes. The Welshman has kept the aerial power and physicality that made Pulis’ team so tough to play against, but has added some nice football through the likes of Odemwingie and Arnautovic.

Like Hughes in his prime, Stoke marry quality with toughness, but this outer makeover hides Continue reading

Spurs 3 Fulham 1- Unsatisfying win for “Reality TV” Tim

Paulinho scores against Fulham

Spurs won this game but White Hart Lane is not a happy place to be right now. This was a disappointing performance and there was yet more controversy.

Tim Sherwood named the same team that began the second half at West Brom, Fryers and Kaboul forming the centre back pairing. Apparently, the thinking from last weeks dreadful first half defensive display, is that Continue reading

West Brom 3 Spurs 3 – No glory in this comeback

Kane Scores for Spurs against West Brom

A comeback but still a poor result. Superficially this was similar to Tottenham’s excellent fight back against Southampton, in reality it was a world away. Southampton are a good team, West Bromwich Albion clearly aren’t.

In some ways Sherwood’s team selection made sense – the first time in his tenure he has named an unchanged side. Spurs had won 5-1 in our previous game, so why Continue reading

Spurs 5 Sunderland 1 – Tottenham turn on the style at home

Kane Scores in Spurs win over Sunderland

5-1! Before this win, Spurs hadn’t even managed four goals at home in the league, let alone five. A great victory, although it must be noted that Sunderland are bottom of the table; on this showing they deserve to be there.

The day and the game, both started badly for our much maligned manager. First came reports that Sherwood would be picking up his P45 come the summer; hardly earth shattering news. The scoop was broken by Sky Sports – later Gary Neville would call it Continue reading
