Expected goals by time
Tottenham continued their excellent run of away victories with a comfortable win at Huddersfield. Spurs blew their opponents away with three goals in a fantastic spell in the first 30 minutes.
Admirably Huddersfield came to play football – a refreshing change after Swansea – but this played into our hands. From the start David Wagner’s were pressing aggressively high up the pitch but were made to look naive as Spurs picked them off at will.
Harry Kane continued his incredible form with two more goals. He just seems to keep on getting better and better.

Harry Winks got his first run out in the league and he made the most of the opportunity. Having someone with his range of passing and speed of thought sitting deep made the whole team look smoother and more in sync. I would favour partnering Winks and Dier in the centre in most games, except maybe against the bigger teams where Dembele and Wanyama’s strength and experience might be needed.
Davies had another excellent game too. He used to look scared of coming forwards, here he kept popping up around the penalty area and was rewarded with another goal and an assist. Pochettino’s coaching techniques working their magic on another fullback.

There will be much tougher games than this, against more able or more defensive opposition, but after a Champions League week this was a welcome three points going into the international break.
